Preservation Blues (running time approximately 45 minutes) is a jazz piece on the theme of redemption and how it can happen that sometimes we don’t understand that we need it until it is too late to benefit from it. Cass, a photographer, sorts through her pictures of New Orleans, reconstructing a visit there where she went through a spiritual and moral crisis. Dreamy, ambiguous, interwoven with music, comments and stories from other voices and characters, her narration takes us down into the dark areas of the soul.
